CREATIVE · SHORT FILM CHALLENGE

Different sides. Still you.

Zeredi is an app in development designed to help you organize your preferences across the different landscapes of your life. It isn’t a media company, and it isn't a platform for creative work—it is a tool for the many versions of ourselves. These creative pieces explore the human experiences and questions that helped shape the app's features. They also make room for a few of the founder's personal interests on a non-traditional waitlist. Because why not?

For the filmmaker I wish I was, and an invitation to the storyteller in you. What changes when someone sees another side of a person?

Make a short film around that question. Tender, funny, quiet, surprising. A small scene can hold a whole change of perspective. You write the story; it doesn't need to mention Zeredi.

An open creative invitation, not a competition. No entry fee, judging, winners, or prizes. You may submit a link for private review by 11:59 p.m. Pacific Time on December 15, 2026. No purchase or app use required.

One theme. Your story.

Different sides. Still you. There is no official character, plot, or ending. Begin with something you have noticed, imagined, or felt. Let someone be more than the first impression.

A few doors into the idea.

Optional questions, not scripts or requirements. Your film can take a completely different direction.

Who walks through the door?

Does the person who leaves for work return home with a different rhythm? What stays with them between the two?

What did we miss?

Show an ordinary moment twice. What changes when we see the part that was outside the first frame?

Can the answer change?

Someone is asked a familiar question. This time, the answer surprises even them.

A small film. Room to make it yours.

Think 1–3 minutes if a starting point helps, not a hard limit. Vertical, horizontal, or square. Any language, with or without dialogue. A phone, a camera, animation, or a few carefully chosen stills can all tell a story.

Captions or subtitles are encouraged where useful. You don't need a polished production, a large crew, or a particular kind of equipment.

Make it. Share it your way.

  1. Start with your own story.

Write and film something original around the theme. Fiction is welcome; you do not need to reveal your own or anyone else's private life. Get permission before using another person's story.

  2. Take care of the people in the frame.

Agree on participation and use with your cast and collaborators. Obtain appropriate permissions for identifiable people and locations, and guardian consent where needed for minors. Don't film strangers or private spaces without appropriate permission. Work safely; no risky stunts or dangerous locations are needed.

  3. Use material you can share.

Clear the music, footage, images, performances, and other material you use. A platform's music permission may not cover another platform, a festival, or commercial distribution. Don't assume this invitation clears third-party rights.

  4. Let it find its audience.

Post wherever you normally share your work. #DifferentSidesStillYou is an optional way to connect interpretations, not an entry form. Posting does not guarantee that we will see or feature your film.

Your film stays yours.

Participating does not assign your rights or grant a license to Zeredi. You and your collaborators retain whatever rights you hold in your original screenplay, footage, performances, edit, and finished film, subject to your agreements and any third-party rights.

You may interpret this theme, adapt the optional prompts, and share or commercially release your own film. No fee or Zeredi credit is required for using this invitation. Others may use the same theme; no participant gets exclusivity over it. This is not permission to use Zeredi's logo, artwork, or anyone else's work.

A public post isn't a promotional contract.

A hashtag, public link, or contact message does not authorize Zeredi to download, reupload, edit, or use your film in advertising. If we would like to feature your work, we will ask separately and agree on the use and credit. Make sure all relevant contributors can agree too.

Independent invitation from Zeredi. Not sponsored, endorsed, or administered by TikTok, Instagram, Meta, or any festival. Do not imply a Zeredi partnership or endorsement. Follow platform rules and disclose any actual paid or gifted relationship.

A song and a story?

You can also explore the Song Challenge for a musical starting point. Its shared lyrics have their own reuse terms. Using someone else's recording or composition still requires their permission; the lyrics license does not cover their contributions.
